Shopping Guide for Non-Toxic Supplements, Products, Detox Tools & More
Since many of you have asked what products I use and what I recommend for this and that, I’ve put together this toxin-free shopping guide for you.
For each product, I’ll tell you what I recommend but also provide some tips and guidelines to keep in mind as you shop in case you don’t want the brand I use.
I’ll add to it as I test out and discover new supplements and products that actually work – and of course, with NO harmful chemicals, toxins, additives, etc. The links below are affiliate links, which means if you go on to purchase something, I’ll earn a small commission at no cost to you. Please know that I only recommend non-toxic products that I use myself or have researched thoroughly 🙂
When shopping for turmeric, keep in mind that it’s not really the turmeric that provides the potent anti-inflammatory benefits, but the curcuminoids within it. Many supplements are just turmeric powder and little to no curcuminoids. Look for a brand that lists the exact mg dosage of curcuminoids on the label – 400mg is a good dose to look for. You also want one with black pepper (or piperine) as it’s been shown to increase the absorption of curcumin by over 2000%.
Oregon’s Wild Harvest is the turmeric supplement I recommend as it meets my requirements for no fillers, chemicals or allergens. It’s literally just turmeric extract/curcuminoids, black pepper and a veggie capsule.
Whole Food, Full Spectrum Vitamin C
Did you know most vitamin C supplements are derived from GMO corn? On top of that, most of them only contain an isolated fraction of vitamin C known as ascorbic acid. And even if you find a good food-based vitamin C, check the small print “Other Ingredients” area because it mostly likely has toxic fillers or flow agents like magnesium stearate.
The Essential C Complex by Paleovalley is my go-to Vit C because it uses a blend of organic superfoods that represent the richest sources of vitamin C on earth. As you shop, look for vitamin C that is food-based, preferably organic (because of the GMO thing) and without fillers.
Detoxing heavy metals is hard because you have to be so meticulous and guard against detoxing too fast & keeping your detox pathways open to avoid the metals recirculating. This liquid zeolite spray works like tiny magnets, attracting toxins with a positive charge such as lead, mercury, aluminum and more.
The zeolite molecules are encased in water, allowing them to reach to the cellular level, attach to toxins, and carry them safely out without the risk of stirring them up and making them recirculate like many other detoxes do. I personally use it and recommend it to everyone!
Our family has used and loved this Berkey Water Filter for over 7 years. Its powerful filters filter out heavy metals, bacteria, VOC’s and more.
If you live in the city on city water, your water is most likely “treated” with toxic chemicals. We live on a well but still needed water filtration for bacteria, viruses and more. The taste is pure and knowing our water is filtered to the highest standards provides peace of mind that is priceless!
As you’re shopping, look for filters that use micro-filtration. Also consider your family size and how much water you go through in a day to determine what size you need.
Shower Water Filter
When you think about toxins in your water, it’s so easy to forget that we need to filter the water we bathe in too. After all, the skin is our body’s largest organ and can absorb toxins just as much as if we consumed them.
This Berkey shower filter is one that I trust as I’ve used Berkey products in our home for the last 7 years.
Detox baths are such an easy, relaxing and enjoyable way to detox! I use Dr. Teal’s Pure Epsom Salts. No fragrances & no additives of any kind.
And the resealable zipper closure is an added bonus 🙂
